    How VideoCup works

VideoCup is a place for short videos, up to 90 seconds, that exist only while people are watching them.

    Viewers keep videos alive

Nobody keeps an archive. When you watch a video, your device keeps a copy for as long as the page is open and passes it on to the next people who want to see it. Every viewer helps carry it.

The server a video is listed on may also hold a copy, to keep it going while it finds an audience, but never past the video's end time.

When the last copy is closed, whether it was a viewer's, the creator's or a server's, the video is gone for good. Every video also has an end time its creator picked, at most seven days away. When that comes, every copy is deleted at the same moment, and nobody, not even the creator, can bring it back.

So a video survives only while someone keeps it going, and never past its end time.

    What the numbers mean

"Watching" is how many people are holding a copy right now. Open a video to see a graph of how its audience grew and shrank over its life.

    Finding videos

Trending shows the videos with the most people watching, from channels this page's moderators have approved. Follow a channel to see what it has live under Your network.

    Good to know

    • Nothing is saved on your device. Closing the page deletes your copy.
    • While you watch, your device uses some of your upload to pass the video on.
    • People watching the same video can see your internet address, as in other apps that share directly between people.
    • See something that shouldn't be here? Use Report on the video.
